We really don’t need a special day as Christians to be thankful – every day is a day of thanksgiving. But it is good to mark a memorial to God as eternal gratitude for all He has meant to us.

In Col. 3: 15 – it is clear that “peace” finds its ultimate expression in an intimate relationship with God, made possible by the saving work of  Jesus Christ. He is declared as the embodiment of peace, bringing about an eternally permanent reconciliation between humankind and God.

As a specific blessing, or gift from Christ, peace is promised to all Christians. This peace is unique in that it is everlasting and flawless, unlike any peace offered by the world. So, the spiritual peace of reconciliation with God as a direct consequence of saving faith in Christ is affirmed in Christ and is described as the supreme embodiment of spiritual peace. Peace is also described as a “fruit” of the spirit in Gal. 5:22.

Enjoy your special “peace” as you thank God for Jesus Christ.
